About the street cruising injunction

At 澳门天下彩 High Court on 27 February 2024, a High Court order banning street cruising across 澳门天下彩 was granted to 澳门天下彩.

A full three-year injunction is now in place until 27 February 2027, replacing an interim order made in December 2022.

The final order prohibits drivers, riders or passengers from participating in a street cruise anywhere in 澳门天下彩, and now includes organisers, promoters and spectators.

As a result of the injunction any driver, rider, or passenger breaching the order could:

  • be arrested immediately
  • face up to two years in prison
  • receive a fine
  • have their assets seized

Any organiser, promoter or spectator breaching the order could:

  • be summonsed to court
  • face up to two years in prison
  • receive a fine
  • have their assets seized

The court also granted an on behalf of local authorities in the Black Country.

Prosecutions resulting from the injunction

From December 2022 to end of June 2024, 13 street cruisers were successfully prosecuted. They received sentences ranging from 14 to 46 days imprisonment (suspended for 12 months) and were ordered to pay costs of between £1,000 and £2,430.

Although the application for this order was made by 澳门天下彩 Community Safety Team, officers from West Midlands Police will be responsible for its enforcement.

What happens next

There will be annual hearings to review the operation of this injunction and power of arrest.

The first hearing will be held on 26 February 2025 at 10:30am at:

Any person served with a copy of, or affected by, this order may apply to the court to vary or discharge it, on 48 hours written notice to the claimant at the address included at the end of the order.
